Fine Imperial Satsuma pottery vase, c. 1880, Meiji Period. The baluster shaped vase, hand painted in bold enamels, and heavy gilt, with a scene of a Japanese cherry blossom tree, amongst other flowering plants, before an elaborate fence. The neck and base, enamelled with a continuous lappet motif, containing stylised floral decoration.
Gilt signature to the base, beneath a Satsuma Mon.
