Masons Ironstone bread crock & cover, c. 1815.

A rare Masons Ironstone bread crock and cover, c. 1815. Boldly decorated with the ‘Vase and Table’ pattern, in underglaze blue, and vibrant enamels. Having a profusion of large flowering plants, issuing from large vases and urns, in a garden setting. The oval shaped pot, having twin serpent head handles, enamelled in green and iron red.
The cover similarly decorated, and surmounted by a large floral moulded finial.

Printed blue factory marks to both the crock, and the cover.

Height – 39 cm, 15 3/8”.

Width – 35 cm, 13 3/4”.

Depth – 22.5 cm, 8 7/8”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.

An exceptional and rare example of Masons Ironstone, with both decorative and practical appeal, and in unusually fine condition.
