Masons Ironstone China, a rare teapot & cover, c. 1815.

A very rare, and fine Masons Ironstone teapot and cover, c. 1815. Modelled after a Meissen original, the teapot has a band of moulded basket weave around the neck. Having an elaborate angular gilt scroll handle, and acanthus leaf moulded spout, heightened in gilt. Painted with a swag of flowers.
The cover similarly decorated, and having a gilt flaviform moulded finial.
All beneath a pearlware glaze.
Impressed mark ‘Patent Ironstone China’ to the inside of the cover.
Height – 12.7 cm, 5”.
Width (Handle to spout) – 20.3 cm, 8”.
Depth – 10.7 cm, 4 1/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
