Meissen porcelain beaker, c. 1740. Hand painted with travellers walking through rural scenery, within elaborate gilt panels. Sprigs of flowers divide the panels.
The interior with a continuous band of gilt scrollwork.
Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, and ‘P.’ gilders mark, in gilt to the underside.
Height – 7 cm, 2 3/4”.
Diameter – 7.5 cm, 3”.
Condition – Minor wear to the gilt rim. No damage. No restoration.
