Minton Majolica cherub basket, dated 1863.

An exceptionally fine and large Minton Majolica basket, dated 1863. Modelled as three cherubs, with lily pad garlands in their hair, as they slide across a river. They carry a large weave moulded basket, supported by bulrushes, and lily pads.
The river spills over the edge of the trefoil shape stepped base, moulded with a continuous leaf motif.
The basket covered in a typical majolica glaze.

Impressed factory mark, and date code for 1863.

Height – 29.5 cm, 11 5/8”.

Diameter – 30.5 cm, 12”.

Condition: Excellent condition. No damage. No restoration.
