Pair Coalport vases and covers. Lakeland scenes, P.Simpson, c. 1900
Pair of Coalport porcelain vases and cover, c. 1900. Both urn shaped vases, delicately painted by Percy Simpson, with titled, Lakeland scenes – ‘Thirlmere’ and ‘Mount Venue’- within gilt scroll edged panels. Upon an underglaze cobalt blue ground, decorated in gilt, with flowering vine, and scrolls to the reverse.
Having gilded rams head handles, and set upon square pedestal feet.
The covers with gilt scroll decoration upon a cobalt blue ground, and surmounted by pine cone finials.
Signed – P. Simpson.
Green printed factory marks, and titled ‘Thirlmere’ and ‘Mount Venue’ to the bases.
