Pair Marcollini Meissen ecuelle, covers and stands, c. 1790.
Pair of Meissen porcelain ecuelle, covers, and stands, Marcollini Period, c. 1790. The bowls having double twist vine handles, terminating in rocaille leaves, with gilt highlights. Hand painted with sprays of ‘Manierblumen’, beneath a continuous band of blue and gilt ribbon ornament. The stands similarly decorated, within gilt dentil rims, as are the ogivally curved covers, which are surmounted with twig loop handles.
Crossed swords and star marks in underglaze blue, along with a blue dash to the inside of the rims.
