Royal Worcester ‘Anglo American’ group, d. 1903.

A rare Royal Worcester group ‘Anglo American’, or ‘Hands Across the Ocean’, modelled by James Hadley, dated 1903. Depicting John Bull and Uncle Sam or Yankee, reaching to shake hands over the Atlantic Ocean, to symbolise the Special Relationship between Great Britain, and the United States.
Decorated in blush ivory tones, shot enamels, and heightened in gilt.

Impressed factory mark, and unusual puce printed mark with ‘Worcester Shot Enamels’ strap. Date code for 1903.

Height – 19.5 cm, 7 5/8”.

Width – 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.

Depth – 11.2 cm, 4 3/8”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
