An exceptionally fine Spode porcelain trio, c. 1825. Each piece with gadroon moulded rims, and luxuriantly hand painted with continuous bands of Summer flowers, in vibrant enamels.
Both the tea cup, and coffee cup having elaborate scroll moulded handles, heightened in gilt.
The interior of the cups with gilt decoration, reminiscent of Meissen ‘laub und bandelwerk’, to the rims.
The teacup and the saucer marked Spode in iron red enamel.
Diameter of saucer – 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.
Height of tea cup – 7 cm, 2 3/4”.
Height of coffee cup – 6 cm, 2 3/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
