Worcester printed ‘Hunting’ mug, c. 1775.
Worcester porcelain mug, c.1775. Printed, in underglaze blue, with scenes of me, hunting with guns. The first, a rare print, ‘The Man Holding a Gun’, depicting a man carrying his gun, accompanied by his dog, before a farmstead. The reverse, with ‘The Man Shooting a Gun’, with the man shooting a bird, before his excited dog.
The mug, having a simple loop, grooved handle.
Underglaze blue Crescent mark to the base, within a broad footrim.
