A Bidri metal alloy mortar, India, early 19th Century. The urn shaped mortar incised and silver inlaid, with a continuous architectural motif, enclosing further window like motif, surmounted by palmettes containing saz leaves. All on a dense meandering floral scroll ground.
Set upon a spreading foot, with further leaf decoration.
Height – 16.5 cm, 6 1/2”.
Diameter – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
