Black Forest carved goblet and cover, Germany, c. 1860. The goblet amusingly carved with a continuous scene of figures squabbling around a cart drawn by bulls, before farm buildings; supported by three farmers, set upon a circular pedestal base, carved with an acanthus leaf motif.
The cover similarly carved, and surmounted by two boys wrestling.
Height – 30.5 cm, 12”.
Diameter – 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.
Condition – Small chip to the cup – please see images for detail. No breaks. No repair.
