Bretby Terracotta Bust of a Bull Dog, circa 1890
A large Bretby pottery bust of a bull dog, circa 1890. The finely potted bust, painted in naturalistic style, and having inset glass eyes. He is wearing a studded collar, which has a nameplate inscribed ‘Tom Crossley, Lyn Dene, Huddersfield’.
Pierced to the reverse for suspension on a wall.
Impressed factory marks to the reverse.

Depth – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
