Chelsea porcelain, a rare conical cup and saucer, c. 1755. The cup, finely hand painted with a large spray of flowers, and smaller sprigs of flowers, in Meissen style, and having a simple loop handle.
The saucer similarly decorated, and both pieces having chocolate brown rims.
Red anchor marks, and number 7 to the unglazed, flat bases of both items.
Height of cup – 6.3 cm, 2 1/2”.
Diameter of saucer – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Condition – Cracks to the rims of both pieces, issuing from crazing, as part of the firing process – please see images for detail. No restoration.
