The stand, similarly decorated with cut fruit, mushrooms, moths and a ladybird.

Width (over handles) – 13 cm, 5 1/8”.

Diameter of stand – 15.3 cm, 6”.

Condition – Typical minor wear to the enamel. No damage. No restoration.

This cup and stand exhibits all the characteristics that you would hope to find with Chelsea porcelain of this period. The painting has an exuberant naivety in its execution, as opposed to the finesse of the Meissen porcelain it wishes to emulate. Heavy crazing and pooling of the glaze, noticable around the ground footrims, particularly to the cup. Three spur marks are present to the underside of the stand.
