Chinese boxwood Buddha & attendants, c. 1900. Qing Dynasty.

Chinese boxwood carved figure, c. 1900, Qing Dynasty. Finely carved as a smiling Buddha, being cleaned by two attendant boys. He wears flowing robes, and reclines against a large sack, whilst holding a bat, in his right hand. Having inlaid teeth and eyes.
He is attended to by two young, laughing boys.

Height: 10.5 cm, 4 1/8”.

Width: 13 cm, 5 1/8”.

Depth: 7.6 cm, 3”.

Condition: Excellent. No damage. No repair.
