Chinese Canton enamel hat stand, c. 1800. Qing Dynasty.

Chinese ‘Canton’ enamel hat stand, c. 1800, Jiaqing period. The tall stand, having canted corners, and well painted with dense floral scroll, upon a yellow ground. Each face, enamelled with a Shou symbol in red, within circular foliate panels, dividing open quatrelobed panels edged in blue enamel.
Continuous bands of stylised Ruyi head, and plantain leaf adorn the top and bottom of the stand.

Height: 34.5 cm, 13 5/8”.

Width: 11 cm, 4 3/8”.

Depth: 11 cm, 4 3/8”.

Condition: Typical stress cracks, and slight wear to the enamel. Overall excellent condition.
