Chinese porcelain Cantonese cup and saucer, c. 1850, Qing Period. The large ‘London shape’ cup, finely hand painted in the Cantonese style, with a continuous scene of figures in a garden setting, in famille rose enamels. Internally painted with a broad band of birds amongst dense foliage. Having an angular shaped handle.
The saucer, similarly decorated with figures in a pavilion, within a broad band of birds amongst foliage.

Height of cup – 6.5 cm, 2 1/2”.
Width (over handle) – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.

Diameter of saucer – 15.6 cm, 6 1/8”.

Condition – Typical very minor wear to the enamel, commensurate with the age of the items.
