Chinese Imari teapot and cover, of large size, c. 1720. The globular teapot, finely painted with flowering plants, amongst rocks, in the Chinese Imari style.
Having a similarly decorated cover surmounted by a blue glazed finial.
The rims edged in brown glaze.
Larger than a usual teapot, but smaller than a punch pot.
Width (Handle to spout) – 23.5 cm, 9 1/4”.
Height – 18 cm, 7 1/8”.
Depth – 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration. Iron spot firing fault to the rim of the cover – please see images for detail.
