Chinese porcelain ‘Kraak’ charger, Wanli, 1573 – 1619, Ming Period. The barbed rim charger hand painted in underglaze blue, with a bird perched upon a rock , amongst flowering plants, within a foliate panel, bordered with alternating key fret, and scale panels.
The deep and broad border, painted with radiating lappet panels of flowers. All within a barbed rim.
Painted to the reverse with alternating whorl and stylised leaf motif.
Diameter – 30.8 cm, 12 1/8”.
Depth – 5.5 cm, 2 1/8”.
Condition – Typical fritting to the rim – please see images for detail. No damage. No restoration.
