Chinese ‘Meissen’ style teapot, c. 1760. Qianlong Period.
Rare Chinese ‘Export’ porcelain teapot and cover, c. 1760, Qianlong Period. Hand painted in the Meissen style, with panels of merchants in conversation, before harbour scenes. The panels edged in gilt-scrolled quatrelobed cartouche, beneath puce scrolls. Having a gilded handle and a spout, terminating at the body, with gilt scrollwork.
The cover painted with flowering branches, and having a gilt finial.
Height: 12 cm, 4 3/4”.
Width: 18 cm, 7 1/8”.
Depth: 10 cm, 3 7/8”.
Condition: Wear to the gilding, and some minor fretting to the rims. Please see images for detail.
