Chinese porcelain bough pot and cover, c. 1840, Qing Dynasty. The square form pot painted in famille rose enamels, the front with a scene of warriors in battle, the reverse with figures before an altar garniture set upon a table.
The sides with further panels of figures, beneath leaf scroll handles.
Set upon a fixed base, painted with a continuous bands of Greek key fret, above cracked ice.
Surmounted with a a pierced cover, painted with figures in a yard.
Height – 22 cm, 8 5/8”.
Width – 21 cm, 8 1/4”.
Depth – 17.2 cm, 6 3/4”.
Condition – Typical minor wear to the overglaze enamel, and the gilding.
