A large Chinese porcelain cockerel, c.1900, Qing Dynasty. The cockerel, with well delineated plumage, and covered in a celadon glaze, with overglaze enamel red wattle and comb. His face in biscuit, with black enamelled eyes, and a tan coloured beak.
He stands upon a tan glazed rocky base.
Impressed marks to the base.
Height – 42 cm, 16 1/2”.
Width – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Depth – 15.2 cm, 6”.
Condition – Typical wear to the overglaze red enamel. No damage. No restoration.
