A large Chinese porcelain moonflask, c. 1880, Qing Dynasty. Hand painted in famille rose enamels, with scene of the Empress amongst a hunting party, in a mountainous landscape. The reverse, with a panel of birds amongst flowering plants.
All on a yellow ground enamelled with flowering lotus scroll, and Longevity symbols.
Continuous band of Ruyi head motif to the rim, and the foot painted with lappets.
The shoulders surmounted by twin gilt chilong handles.
Retrospective iron red Xuande seal mark to the base.
Height – 50 cm, 19 3/4”.
Width – 36 cm, 14 1/4”.
Depth – 10 cm, 4”.
Condition – High quality invisible restoration to the rim of the neck. Otherwise in excellent condition.
