Chinese porcelain teapot and cover, c. 1720, Kangxi Period. Hand painted in underglaze blue, with Buddhistic mandala style decoration of scrolling plants.
The flowerheads and other details, heightened in iron red enamel, and gilt.
Having a moulded spout and handle, painted in underglaze blue, with stylised flowers.
Surmounted by the original pierced cover, with a button finial, and painted with a flowerhead.
Height – 12.5 cm,4 7/8”.
Width (Handle to spout) – 22 cm, 8 1/2”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
