Chinese Wucai enamel Dragon jars, c. 1650. Shunzhi Period

Pair of large Chinese porcelain jars, c. 1650, Shunzhi Period. Both jars hand painted in wucai enamels, with roundels of dragons chasing pearls, amongst clouds.
The shoulders with continuous bands of stylised floral scroll, beneath a lappet border to the neck. A further lappet motif adorns the foot of the jars.
Height – 32.5 cm, 12 3/4”.
Diameter – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Condition – Museum repairs to consolidate several cracks and breaks to both jars. They are secure, and display well, in true ‘Country House’ tradition.
