Chinese Wucai porcelain Immortals dish, c. 1625. Tianqi mark and period.
Chinese porcelain saucer dish, Tianqi mark and period (1621 – 1627). The circular dish, painted in underglaze blue and wucai enamels, with the Immortal, Cao Guojiu, holding clappers, and riding on clouds, above stylised flowering plants, and with an inscription that reads Langyuan Penglai sandao ke (A visitor to Langyuan in the Penglai Islands).
The underside painted with two stylised flowering branches, in underglaze blue and iron red enamel.
Tianqi four character mark, within concentric circles, in underglaze blue.
Diameter – 15 cm, 6”.
Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
