Copeland and Garrett, Late Spode ‘Aesops Fables’ tureen, cover and ladle, c. 1840. The tureen base printed in green, with a titled scene of ‘The Wolf, The Lamb and The Goat’, beneath a band of flowers. Set upon four moulded scroll feet, and having scroll handles.
The cover printed with ‘The Hare and The Tortoise’, beneath a scroll handle.
Having a ladle, printed with a tree in a landscape.

Printed and impressed factory marks to all three pieces.

Length of tureen – 37 cm, 14 5/8”.
Height – 26.5 cm, 10 1/2”.
Depth – 22.5 cm, 8 7/8”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
