A fine and large drabware Stilton cheese dome and stand, probably Ridgway, Staffordshire c. 1840. The dry bodied dome, heavily moulded with scrolling vine, beneath a shoulder of stylised leaves, and flowerheads. Having a finial formed as a dished flowerhead, filled with flowers.
Set upon a circular stand, with a circular band of flowerheads amongst leaves.
All beneath a tan coloured drab glaze.
Height – 30.5 cm, 12”.
Diameter of stand – 31.5 cm, 12 3/8”.
Condition – Perfect. No damage. No restoration.
