English porcelain sauce tureen and stand, c. 1820. Regency.

English porcelain sauce tureen, cover and stand, c. 1820. The tureen hand painted in vibrant enamels with sprays of Spring flowers to either side, beneath a finely gilded intricate band of floral scroll. Having twin gilt branch handles, terminating in bunches of grapes.
The cover similarly decorated, and surmounted with a branch handle.
Having its original shaped oval stand, painted with a large spray of Spring flowers, within a gilt floral scroll border.

Pattern number ‘162’ to the bases.

Width of tureen – 19.5 cm, 7 3/4”.

Height – 13 cm, 5 1/8”.

Depth – 11.7 cm, 4 5/8”.

Width of stand – 21 cm, 8 1/4”.

Condition – Minor wear to the overglaze enamels. No damage. No restoration.
