A North England pottery ‘Racing’ child’s mug, c. 1840. Printed to the body, with a scene of a horse race, before cheering crowds in a grandstand. The print heightened in muted enamels, so typical of pottery produced in the North of England. Covered in a pearlware glaze.
Inscribed ‘RACING’.
Height – 7.7 cm, 3”.
Diameter – 7.7 cm, 3”.
Condition: Slight wear to the enamel. No damage. No restoration.
