A George Jones Majolica squirrel dish, circa 1875. The dish, moulded in high relief, with a large leaf, and flowering branch. Surmounted by a finely moulded squirrel, holding a large nut. Covered in typical Majolica glazes.
The underside decorated in a ‘tortoiseshell’ glaze.
Impressed ‘GJ’ monogram mark, and Registration lozenge. Script model number.
Size: Length 25.3 cm, 10”.
Depth 23.5 cm, 9 1/4”.
Height 10.2 cm, 4”.
Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
