Imari porcelain pug dog , Japan, c. 1900, Meiji Period. The pug seated, and having a look of bewilderment, expression on his face. Painted to the body in typical Imari style with a quatrelobed panel containing a flowering plant. Surrounded by stylised flowerheads amongst leaves.
Having yellow eyes, and pierced nostrils.
Height – 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Width – 16 cm, 6 1/4”.
Depth – 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
