Imperial Satsuma pottery koro and silver cover, c. 1890, Meiji Period. The globular body, raised upon three scroll feet, and having a reticulated neck, consisting of interlinked circles. Painted with phoenix and dragons, in elaborate panels, upon a wave ground.
Surmounted by a pierced silver cover, decorated with buddhistic emblems.
Height – 10.5 cm, 4 1/4”.
Diameter – 10 cm, 4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
