A fine Japanese bronze okimono lamp, signed Yoshitani,
美谷特製. c.1900, Meiji Period.
Modelled as a lamp lighter, holding a torch, whilst preparing to light a pagoda topped lamp, which is supported atop a wooden pedestal.
The shaped base cast with leaves.
Having a detachable roof to access the bulb.
Stamped to both the figure and the base with artists seals that read Yoshitani tokusei. 美谷特製
N.B. Signature can also be read as Bikoku.
The lamp is fully rewired and PAT tested.

Height: 47cm, 18 1/2”.

Depth: 21.5 cm, 8 1/2”.
Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
