An unusual Japanese cloisonné vase, c. 1890, Meiji Period. The pear shaped vase, finely decorated in silver wire, with leaves floating on a stream. Having an elongated neck, with Buddhas Beads, suspended below a continuous band of lappets.
A band of scrollwork and stylised plants adorn the footrim.
All beneath a graduated yellow ground, deep yellow to the neck, to a paler yellow at the foot.
Having gilt metal mounts.
Height – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Diameter – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Condition – No damage. No restoration.
