Japanese ‘Imari’ porcelain barbers bowl, Arita, late 17th Century. Edo Period. Hand painted in Imari style, with a jardiniere of flowering plants, unusually enamelled in Kutani taste, upon a terrace. The broad, flared rim, painted with further flowering plants.
Having a recess for the neck, and original twin pierced holes for suspension.

Condition: Some typical minor wear to the overglaze enamel. No damage. No restoration.
