Japanese ‘Imari’ porcelain vase, Arita, c.1700. Edo Period. The hexagonal shaped vase, hand painted with panels of a bijin watching horses playing before a pavilion, in a landscape, alternating with panels of jardinieres containing flowering plants.
The shoulders with alternating circular and rhombus shaped reticulated panels, all on a gilded cobalt blue ground.

Width: 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Condition: Very minor chips to rim. Some wear to the gilding. No restoration.
