Japanese lacquer okimono of a carp,Haruyama Shunzan, Meiji Period. Finely worked in carved wood, the scales of mother of pearl, behind a beautifully carved, gilded, and finished with inlaid horn and mother of pearl eyes.
The fins finely detailed, and gilded.

Signed Haruyama Shunzan in a gilt seal.

Length – 28 cm, 11”.

Height – 16.5 cm, 6 1/2”.

Depth – 9 cm, 3 1/2”.

Condition – Typical age related wear to the gilding.
