Japanese Porcelain Imari Charger, circa 1700, Genroku Period

Japanese porcelain charger, Arita, circa 1700, Genroku period. The large dish, well painted in the Imari style, with a central panel of a vase of flowering plants, set upon a table. The broad border, decorated in typical style with panels of flowering pine trees, alternating with panels of squirrels amongst flowering plants.
The reverse painted with flowering branches, around an unglazed footrim, surrounding an underglaze blue circle, and five spur marks.

Measures: Diameter – 30.5 cm, 12”.
Height – 4 cm, 1 5/8”.

Condition – Typical minor wear to the gilding. No damage. No restoration.
