A fine Kakiemon style bowl, Arita, Japan, c. 1700. The wrythen moulded deep bowl, well painted in underglaze blue, underglaze enamels, and gilt, with flowering plants emerging from a banded fence, and rocks.
The interior, with branches of pomegranates and peaches, around a central crysanthemum.
Set upon a short foot, painted in underglaze blue with a continuous ‘OXO’ motif.
Diameter – 18.5 cm, 7 1/4”.
Height – 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.
Condition – Very minor wear to the overglaze enamel. No damage. No restoration.
