Karl Ens porcelain and bronze lamp, c. 1920. Finely modelled by Anton Buschelberger, as Pierrot, standing before a column, with his arms and legs crossed.
The column supports a bronze lamp, cast with vine entwined around a wood cross, from which are suspended the original cut glass shades.
Set upon a circular bronze base.
Stamped factory marks to the underside.
Fully rewired.
Height – 62 cm, 24 1/2”.
Width – 32 cm, 12 5/8”.
Depth – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
Anton Buschelberger (1869-1934). A year after his birth in what is now the Czech Republic, his family moved to Germany. He studied at the Art College in Munich, then settled in Dresden.
He eventually became a respected sculptor and artist.
