Koransha porcelain bowl, Japan, c. 1890, Meiji Period. The square shaped bowl, boldly painted in the Imari style, with variously shaped, overlapping panels of dragons, flowers and textile motifs, upon similarly decorated larger panels.
The exterior, painted with four florette panels, containing stylised lotus flowers, all upon a ground of dense floral scroll.
Koransha mark in underglaze blue to the base.
