KPM Berlin porcelain plaque, Venus and Cupid, c. 1870. Finely hand painted, with a scene of Venus, with a diaphonous robe loosely draped around her naked form, sleeping on cushions, whilst Cupid sits at her side with a quizzical expression on his face.
A dove is perched upon a classical urn, containing beautifully painted roses, whilst its companion dove rests by the right hand of the goddess.
Impressed sceptre and KPM mark to the reverse.
Gilt wood frame.
