A large Kutani porcelain okimono of a Bijin, Japan, c. 1890, Meiji Petiod. The standing Bijin, dressed in an elaborately enamelled kimono, painted with a continuous river landscape of birds flying above snow covered pine trees. She holds a fan in her right hand.
