Kutani Porcelain Figure of a Bijin, circa 1890, Meiji Period
A large Japanese Kutani porcelain figure, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Beautifully modelled as an elegant young girl wearing a blue kimono, decorated in typical enamel, with an image of stylised river strewn with floating flower heads, and birds amongst clouds. The Bijin stands barefooted, and holds a fan in her left hand.
Measures: Height 35 cm, 13 3/4”.
Condition: Typical minor wear to the enamels. In perfect condition. No damage. No restoration.
