Meissen porcelain Chinoiserie arbour group, c. 1870. Modelled after the 18th century original by P. Reinicke, and engraving of drawing by François Boucher. The gentleman seated beside his female companion, holding a book between them, beneath a pierced rococo scroll arbour entwined with flowering plants, upon a gilt lined grassy mound base.
Blue crossed swords mark, and incised model number 2653 to the unglazed base.

Depth: 10.2 cm, 4”.

Condition: Typical repair to minor chips to flowers. Otherwise excellent condition.
