Meissen Porcelain Figure of a Lute Player, Paul Reinicke, circa 1740
A fine Meissen porcelain figure, circa 1740. Modelled by Peter Reinicke, as seated man playing the lute. He wears a white coat, edged in puce and gilt, and yellow breeches. The irregular shaped base, applied with flowers and leaves.
Blue crossed swords mark to the rear of the base.
Measures: Height – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
Width – 6 cm, 2 1/3”.
Depth – 10 cm, 4”.
Condition – Repair to his left leg, and end of lute.
