Meissen porcelain group, c. 1870. Modelled as two young children, in 18th Century costume. The seated girl holds a large garland of flowers, whilst the boy stand next to a tree stump, which supports a bird cage; atop the cage, is a small bird in a nest. A further bird peers out from the base of the tree stump.
All set upon a grassy mound base, with a leaf moulded rim, edged in gilt.
Underglaze blue crossed swords mark, and incised model number G91 to the underside of the base.
Height – 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.
Width – 11.5 cm, 4 1/2”.
Depth – 9 cm, 3 1/2”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
