Meissen porcelain figure group, c. 1880. Modelled after J.J. Kaendler and F.E. Meyer, as a group young people, in 18th Century costume, gathering apples from a tree – the lady and gentleman depositing the apples in a large basket, whilst a boy has climbed a ladder to pick the apples.
Set upon a circular grassy mound base, edged in gilt moulded rocaille.
Underglaze blue crossed swords mark, and incised model number ‘2229’ to the underside.
Height – 28 cm, 11”.
With – 14 cm, 5 1/2”.
Condition – Typical minor repair to leaves. Otherwise in excellent condition. No breaks.
